Who am I?
I am a Designer who is constantly learning, growing and adapting. Technology changes, so I use what is available to improve efficiency in work and at home.

What are my hobbies?
Walking to find the best food. When traveling, I check out the local food scene. If food is no good, I
won’t be visiting your town or city.

My BIGGEST fault?
Sadly, I am a NY Jet football fan.WHY? Because I am loyal to my team and I believe that even in the worst scenario, things can improve.

3D Creation

The ability to create and visualize 3D is both fun and a challenge. Creating forms and art through 3D allows for more dynamic design that is not always possible through a photo, video or an illustration. Once a model is created in 3D, there are limitless options in regards to lighting, repositioning of objects and changing the overall feel of the scene.

Limitations of Photos

A photo on the other hand, can capture a moment in time that can have an everlasting effect on the viewer. While this is great, it still has limitations. How can you rotate a photo 3 dimensionally? Yeah, you can achieve this in a few ways via panoramic views, but overall a photo is a photo. Even videos have limitations for what one can see. A landscape has limitations of distance when recorded from an iPhone, Canon or other recording device. Where as, a 3D scene can encompass everything that the mind can come up with. No single photo can do this.

Love of Photography

While I praise the strength of 3D, I cannot say enough about a great photograph. Nothing can stir feelings as much as a wonderful sunset that radiates the amber rays as it fades below an ocean horizon. Or maybe, a Blue Heron that you capture  at a distance, that is staring at you intently. Trying to figure out if it should flee or ignore your presence in the distance.

Capturing the Moment

It is truly frustrating when you are ready to capture that moment, when a bird is positioned so correctly and suddenly decides to leave you hanging. Photography requires patience and sometimes you just have to wait for that perfect shot. Sometimes that perfect shot never happens, and other times it happens right away. That is the greatest joy and you never know when or how that shot might happen. With the progression of smartphone cameras, it appears that anyone can capture that perfect shot. In the end, it does not matter what you are holding in your hand or controlling via remote controller, a great shot is worth so much.

True Content Creator

A Designer throughout my life, I am a conceptual thinker who can design art that is outside of the box, or design art that conforms to traditional design standards. I am not a 1 dimensional thinker. I am a multi-dimensional creator of art who uses any form of digital software to make art that looks good and is truly functional.

Work in all Digital Mediums

I am not afraid to work in anything when it comes to digital creation. I am well versed in all Adobe software from Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects and Premiere, and Acrobat. I also, work with other forms of digital software including 3D software that enables me to create art that is not always possible through a photograph or an illustration.

Designing for Sales

Working with Sales & Marketing is something that I have done throughout my career as a Graphic Designer. I have provided printed content along with digital content that encompassed everything from emailers to printed material. My understanding of all-in-one marketing platforms, especially Mailchimp, has allowed me to provide monthly material for all our new products along with existing products to over 4000 contacts.

Understanding how Emailers work

Sending out emailers through platforms such as Mailchimp provides the greatest security and stability. One must also understand that getting too fancy with multiple-column grid setups is the easiest way to have a screwed up emailer when it arrives to the customer or intended audience. Single column setups with multi rows is the most stable and fool proof manner of sending out emailers. Adding complex html to an emailer will guarantee failure due to the very backward way that email services are setup.

Layout Design

I have done layout design for everything from brochures to ads. The layouts can be a simple single column format when it comes to emailer to a multi-clolumn format for ads and brochures. My software of choice when it comes to printed or digital layouts is generally InDesign. In addition, pdfs are a really safe format for sending to customers whether  it is for print or for web friendly documents.

Brochures, Ads, Sellsheets

The direction of ads, sell sheets and brochures is no longer focused on print based material. It really is content that needs to be readable on smartphones. Digital layouts are more linear and must be easier to read on your smartphone. While computers and tablets are still very much in use, the popularity of smartphone has forced the formatting of design to change. Truthfully a bit too linear and vertical in formatting, but that is how we read things on a smart phone. We don’t use landscape mode, we view things vertically on our smartphones most of the time. Which means single column formatting is the way to go in many instances of layout design.
